Welcome to Holy Cross Lutheran Church
Welcome!
Each Sunday, we begin our worship with this statement: “Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever your life circumstances might be, you are safe and welcome among us in Jesus’ name.”
At Holy Cross, we believe passionately in the radical, all-embracing welcome that Jesus has for all as he shows in his words and his actions in the Gospels. As his disciples, we seek to live into and through the love God has for us and to love as God has loved us.
In that, we believe that:
-
God’s love is active, seeking out those who feel cast off from society and even from church.
-
God’s love is compassionate, understanding our flaws and imperfections and surrounding us with grace and redemption.
-
God’s love is understanding, allowing questions, struggles, and even doubts as we all journey together in faith.
-
God’s love is reconciling and restorative, affirming and celebrating us as part of the family and as a beloved child of God, created in the holy image of God.
-
God’s love calls us to service, striving to reach out to others with the love that embraces us, doing our best to stand up for issues of justice in our community, and striving to be good stewards of the Creation God has made.
We invite you to join us, and we pray that you will experience God’s gracious love in our midst.
-
If you have never been to church before or grew up going every Sunday, you are welcome.
-
If there are things in your present or your past that you think might prevent you from God’s love, you are welcome.
-
If other people or another church have told you that you are unworthy of God’s love, you are welcome.
-
If you have doubts, not certain you believe in God, or don’t like organized religion, you are welcome.
